Founded in 1980, Seattle Waldorf School merged in August 2008 with the local Waldorf high school, making it the first fully-integrated, Pre-K through Grade 12 Waldorf school in the Puget Sound region. The area is also home to seven other K-8 Waldorf schools, as well as numerous Waldorf preschools and initiatives. Our experienced and dedicated faculty teach approximately 370 students in programs from Early Childhood through Grade Twelve. The school is a full member of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America and the Pacific Northwest Association of Independent Schools (PNAIS), preparing for accreditation by both in the fall of 2009.
Our wooded Grade School campus in lovely north Seattle offers students an intimate setting to learn and grow, while the High School is located in the vibrant, urban heart of the city, rich with cultural opportunities.
Operating out of our facilities is the Sound Circle Center for Arts and Anthroposophy, which offers a three-year teacher training, in addition to a full spectrum of summer courses. The Seattle Branch of the Anthroposophical Society is a vibrant organization dedicated to the study of spiritual science, and holds meetings and well-attended public events on our campus as well.
The Seattle area is blessed with unsurpassed natural beauty, abundant opportunity for year-round outdoor recreation, and a rich array of cultural events.
