When scientist, philosopher, educator and visionary Rudolf Steiner created the first Waldorf school in Germany in 1919, his intention was unmistakably clear: Receive the students in reverence, educate them in love, and send them forth in freedom.
Today, beginning in early childhood and extending through twelfth grade, Seattle Waldorf School anchors these words in its daily classroom activities and rich community life. Seattle Waldorf School is a member of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA), a candidate member of the Pacific Northwest Association of Independent Schools (PNAIS), and is one of more than 950 Waldorf schools worldwide.
