Extended Day and Athletics

Seattle Waldorf School’s Extended Day and Athletics programs offer a wide variety of choices for fun after school is out. Whether you’re wanting a space to chill out and eat a snack or a challenge in the sport or skill of your choice, SWS has something for you. We partner with local athletics organizations, The Mountaineers, Chess NW, and local teaching artists to bring our enrichment activities to life.

Aftercare programming provides SWS students with loosely structured, child-directed activities after school. Students participate in activities indoors and outdoors, and all students are offered a snack each day.

Aftercare is available for Preschool-Grade 8 students and runs Monday-Friday, 3:00-5:30 p.m. (except school holidays and in-service days).

Clubs offer students skill-specific enrichment activities where they have the opportunity to work with a teaching artist to develop skills over 8-10 weeks. Clubs are often developed with the input of students and staff. A rotating schedule of clubs are offered in the fall, winter, and spring.

They are open to SWS students and the wider community, meeting 1-2 days each week from 3:00-5:00 p.m.

Our Athletics program offers competitive and intramural sports to SWS students and the wider community. Current sports include Ultimate Frisbee, Basketball, Volleyball, Cross-Country Running and Orienteering. Athletics programs are open to students of all experience levels and provide a wonderful opportunity for skills development and community engagement. Teams practice 1-3 days each week and may compete in weekend events.
